Western Australia is one of the most beautiful places in the world. It is also one of only 34 global biodiversity hotspots and the only one in Australia. The Curtin University National Science Week Photo Competition is an opportunity for you to capture the beauty that surrounds us and perhaps win a brand new iPad!

National Science Week, which runs between 14 and 22 August this year, is a week dedicated to exploring the wonders of science. The theme for 2010 is Australian Biodiversity.

Take this opportunity to expand your knowledge of WA’s biodiversity. Grab your camera, go out and explore what nature has to offer. Your photo should highlight the importance of the biodiversity of WA¹s beaches, the bush, or your very own backyard. Enter your photo and an iPad could be yours.

The competition is open to all ages, so everyone can join the fun!

Submit your photo under one of three categories (beach, bush and backyard). A winner will be chosen from each. A student prize and a People¹s Choice winner will also be awarded.
