Panel Discussion: Is iPS Cell Research Lost In Translation? Australasian Society for Stem Cell Research Conference

Heralded as a major breakthrough in stem cell technologies, iPS cells are reprogrammed adult body cells that behave like pluripotent stem cells. A panel and audience will question this technology. What are iPS cells, true pluripotent cells or a culture artifact? What are benefits of this research? Will iPS cell technology be a ‘disease in a dish’? Is it hyped? Or, is it the next biotechnology breakthrough? Should cell donors share in any future profits?
