This page is an update of logistics detail you may find useful for attending the conference.

Skip down for detail on how to get to the gala dinner, the conference venue, the Welcome Reception, the post-conference mixer or the EMCR day.

Gala dinner

The dinner is held at the National Gallery of Australia, in Canberra. Doors will open at 5:30 PM, via the main gallery entrance. Click here for a link to a Google Maps pin for where this entrance is. The picture below shows the sliding doors (near the large pole on the right, surrounded by a black hood). We will vacate the venue after 10:30 PM.

There is underground parking that is free after hours. The entrance to the carpark is off Parkes Place (not Parkes Way which is on the other side of the lake). More information on how to get there can be found at the NGA website.

Conference venue

The Shine Dome is the main venue for the conference. Located at 15 Gordon St, Acton, across the road from the National Film and Sound Archive.

There is paid car parking available on street near the site, or a short walking distance across the road at the Nishi building. Note that the Academy staff carpark is not available for conference guests. We encourage the use of walking, electric or public transport.

The front entrance has a paved area out front where taxis, ubers or friends can drop you off or pick you up.

We highlight that one of the scheduled conference rooms is up a short flight of stairs. Please reach out to asc2023@asc.asn.au if stairs pose any issue for you, so that we can find an adequate solution.

Entry to the building is via the main entrance doors located off the forecourt area on Gordon St (top of the image below). Please check-in at the registration desk in the main foyer. You’ll receive your lanyard and name tag. Please keep this on you during your time at the conference.

Further on-site details will be available after you arrive, and printed on the reverse of your conference lanyard tag, including wifi details. There is no physical program, but a QR code is available for all attendees to load the program page via a smart device.
