Your membership makes you part of the community of science communicators in Australia and so help to shape the ASC locally and nationally.

Cost of membership:

  • Individual membership is $88 per annum (incl. GST)
  • Student membership (with appropriate ID) is $35.20 (incl. GST)
  • Associate membership (with explanation) is $35.20 (incl. GST)
  • Corporate membership is $528 (incl. GST).

Join or renew online through our secure site using VISA or MasterCard. You may also select the “Bill Me” option to receive an invoice for later payment.

You will receive a confirmation of payment email that provides a link to your membership details, tax invoice and invitation code required to become an ASC web author.

Note to new members: if your web invitation code expires before you register to become an ASC web contributor you can obtain the latest code by emailing the office or in your monthly scope newsletter.

Associate members

Associate membership is offered to retirees, members living overseas, on maternity (or other) leave, or otherwise not currently active in science communication. People who are claiming Associate Membership need to explain why.

Corporate members

If you choose Corporate Membership, please register one individual as a Corporate Member to be charged the appropriate fee and then email Kali with the names email addresses and location/state of up to ten people for your Corporate membership. A unique code will be issued for the rest of your group to register without additional charge.

Corporate members are entitled to have up to ten employees attend ASC events at members rates for the price of 6 memberships. One who is nominated by the employer from those ten people can vote at meetings.

Representatives of Corporate Members who are not members of the National Council may participate in debates on matters of business at any General Meeting and one representative (or their proxy) nominated by the Corporate Member shall be entitled to vote.
