ASC-WA Event Review: Quizalicious

Date: 19 June 2013

Venue: Rosie O’Grady’s Irish Pub, Northbridge

Format: Informal Quiz Night

Audience Size: 44

This year’s quiz night “Quizalicious” was held in the cosy upstairs area of Rosie O’Grady’s Irish Pub in Northbridge and was attended by 44 ASC members and non-members.

With their eyes on the display of cool prizes, including science-themed mugs and ice cube trays, nine teams battled through eight rounds of science, music, geography and gossip – but there could only be one winner: team Trolololololo. By coincidence, this team was home to ASC WA branch president Teresa Belcher and committee member Sarah Lau, but we swear that they had not seen the questions before!

The event was run by ASC WA committee members Cassandra Rowles (who had prepared everything), Jo Elliot (who MC’ed on the night and who was “open to flattery and bribery but her word was final”), Pete Wheeler and Wiebke Ebeling (who scores the answer sheets).

A healthy competitive vibe, fun questions, and intermittent mad dashes to score a scratchie made for a very entertaining night and happy participants.
